Submitting a Special Issue Proposal

The International Journal of Bio Sciences and Chemistry welcomes proposals for Special Issues focused on timely, significant, and academically relevant themes within biological sciences, chemistry, and related research fields. A Special Issue may focus on a specific scientific discipline, an emerging research area, an interdisciplinary topic, or an important research challenge relevant to the journal's scope.

All Special Issues and the manuscripts submitted to them are subject to the same editorial standards as regular submissions, including editorial screening, peer review, publication ethics, confidentiality, and conflict-of-interest management.

What to Include in Your Proposal

A strong Special Issue proposal should cover the following elements:

Proposed Title

A working title that clearly communicates the proposed Special Issue's subject and focus.

Theme and Scope

A concise description of the proposed theme, its scientific relevance, and its connection to biological sciences, chemistry, or related research areas.

Objectives

The main objectives of the Special Issue and its anticipated contribution to scientific knowledge, research development, and academic discussion.

Guest Editor(s)

The name, institutional affiliation, academic or professional background, relevant research expertise, and contact details of each proposed Guest Editor.

Proposed Article Types

The types of contributions being considered, such as original research articles, review articles, short communications, or other formats appropriate to the proposed theme.

Expected Number of Contributions

An estimated number of manuscripts anticipated for the Special Issue.

Proposed Timeline

A proposed schedule for the submission period and other relevant editorial milestones, where available.

The proposal should clearly explain the scientific importance of the theme, its relevance to the journal's scope, and the value the Special Issue would offer to researchers and readers.

What We Expect from Guest Editors

Guest Editors responsible for a Special Issue are expected to:

Promote the Special Issue through relevant academic and professional networks.
Encourage high-quality scholarly contributions from researchers in relevant scientific fields.
Support the editorial and peer-review process throughout the Special Issue's development.
Maintain confidentiality, impartiality, and editorial independence.
Disclose actual or potential conflicts of interest and manage them appropriately.
Ensure that submitted manuscripts meet the journal's scientific, academic, and ethical standards.
Follow the Guest Editor Guidelines and all other applicable journal policies.

Editorial decisions must be based on the scientific merit of each manuscript and must not be improperly influenced by personal, professional, institutional, commercial, or financial interests.

How Proposals Are Evaluated

Every Special Issue proposal undergoes editorial evaluation before approval. The evaluation considers the theme's scientific significance, its alignment with the journal's scope, the qualifications and relevant expertise of the proposed Guest Editor(s), and the practical feasibility of the proposed issue.

Submission of a proposal does not guarantee approval.

Approval of a Special Issue does not guarantee acceptance of any individual manuscript. Every submission remains subject to the journal's standard editorial screening and independent peer-review process, and decisions are made on the merits of each manuscript.

Submitting Your Proposal

Researchers interested in proposing a Special Issue should send their proposal to the Editorial Office of the International Journal of Bio Sciences and Chemistry using the contact details provided on the journal's website.
